Werder Havelauen – The new garden city with water view

Werder (Havel) is part of the Potsdam-Mittelmark district which places it close to Berlin.und damit zum Berliner Umland. Potsdam-Mittelmark is one of the few districts in the federal state of Brandenburg which can claim an increase in population.

The age structure changes in Germany are also clearly visible and recognisable in Werder (Havel). The percentage of citizens over the age of 65 will climb drastically by 71% from 2010 to 2030.

Potsdam-Mittelmark is the region with the highest buying-power in eastern Germany.

Since the beginning of 2011 a total of 534.000 m² constructed area, including housing, commercial, transport and green spaces, have been put up in the area. Within 5 years Werder has turned into a flourishing landscape. Once the new neighbourhood of Großen Zernsee is completed, up to 4.000 people will live, work and play there.
