Located directly at the river Havel, Werder is famous for the wealth of blossoms it sports in spring and summer. The official state health resort with 25.000 inhabitants hosts one of the largest fun fairs in Germany - aptly named Blossom Festival. The name of the town is derived from "Werth" or "Wörth" which used to mean "island in the stream".

The city centre of Werder is indeed located on an island within the river Havel, surrounded by 700 - 1400 m of water. With that much water all around, it is no wonder that all kinds of water sports are to be found in the area. Rowing, sailing, windsurfing or fishing are just a few of the possibilities on offer.

LOCATION

Located just 40 km from the centre of Berlin and 12 km to Potsdam, Werder finds itself close to the metropolis while being surrounded by nature.
The motorways A10 and B1 are within easy reach. The RE1 from Berlin to Magdeburg passes right trough the city as well.
In addition, the town is connected to Berlins public transport system, providing several bus lines in various directions.

The property is well located, giving access by foot to various shopping areas. Werder's city park is only 600 m away and offers many recreational activities. The highlight of the property is of course the direct vicinity to the water, directly situated on the Glindow lake. A real find in the area surrounding Berlin!
